Please provide a quote about Berwyn's Schools

I am preparing a proposal to the District 100 school board and administrators about recommendations for improved community relations, including suggestions to help improve the perceptions of District 100 schools. I'd like to include a summary, or baseline, of perceptions today.

Would you please let me know what you think about Berwyn's schools? Or what you've heard others say about Berwyn's schools? This does not have to be specific to District 100, but if it is, please indicate. Also, please let me know if you have children who are in or have attended District 100 schools. It would be interesting to compare perceptions of those in the school community and those outside.

I'd like to include your comments and whether or not you have children in District 100 schools, but I will NOT INCLUDE your name or email address (if you'd like to keep this confidential and not post to the Blog, please feel free to email me direct at rrammien@hotmail.com).

I appreciate the dialogue. Thank you!

The recent incident of the gun being brought to Morton West and the handling of the response by Superintendent Ben Nowakowski, particularily given the Police's recommendation and the fact that report was accurate, is nothing short of gross error in judgement.

Could anyone consider any threat more real or meanacing to the students and faculty?

How could any chief executive officer, given the incident outside Heritage last year or the many recent school shootings, not have choosen a more appropriate response?

What parent would allow a child to return to house where the parent responsible had displayed such poor judgement?

My quote: "subpar leadership, gets subpar results, and should get subpar support"

Dist. 98 and 100 should send residents periodic newletters via the mail. Our schools continue to get bad press through community talk, unpopular decisions, the media etc. Although our schools are in a tough financial position I beleive if our residents were aware of the positive educational gains our students are making they would be more in favor of granting tax increases to the schools. Market the schools!
